Christmas Turkey, Ham, Goose and More to Order from the Avoca Butchers

Oct 03, 2017

Whatever you’re serving up this Christmas, the Avoca Butchers look forward to helping you pull off the perfect festive feast. We’ve worked hard over the past year to source and support some of the finest ethical farmers and producers in Ireland. We have discussed welfare, quality of feed, and the right to roam freely in orchards, fields and mountain pastures. We are passionate about who we work with, and are proud to be offering the very best of Irish organic, free range and artisan produce to your home this festive season. Check out a taster of what’s on offer below, or click here to see the full selection including prices, size guides and more. Available to order from both our Monkstown and Dunboyne locations. To place an order, call 00353 1 903 1200 for Dunboyne or 00353 1 202 0230 for Monkstown to speak to one of our experienced butchers. If it’s turkey you’re after, our organic bronze hen turkeys are reared by Corina Mount Charles on her family farm in Co. Meath, where they roam freely and are fed an organic grain diet. We’re also lucky enough to have Eoin Sharkey rear his free range bronze turkeys exclusively for Avoca - that's him in the top left photo. The turkeys are free to forage and roam on the farm which is just half an hour down the road from our Dunboyne store – it’s hard to get any more local than that. If you fancy serving up free range goose or duck, we have both from Tony and Mary Walshe’s farm in Co. Kilkenny. They are even used in some of the top restaurants in Ireland. We also have Arndale Farm free range bacon and pork. Exclusive to the Avoca Butcher, we are very proud that this supplier has been awarded the Good Pig Award – one of only two in the whole of Ireland. We think that’s pretty special. We have Dexter beef reared for the Avoca Butcher by Basil Valentine, a fourth generation farmer based in Co. Kildare. If you like, our passionate butchers can even age your beef for up to 60 days for you. We’re also thrilled to offer the Calvey family’s Achill island mountain lamb this Christmas and New Year. “Heather Sweetened and Seaside Seasoned”, the flavour of this lamb is a testament to the Calvey family’s passion and dedication to their craft.
