Avoca Proudly Sponsors the Irish Book Awards 2019

Nov 01, 2019

We are beyond excited to be sponsoring the Cookbook of the Year category at this year's An Post Irish Book Awards!

Set up by a group of Irish booksellers in 2007, the Irish Book Awards have expanded hugely since then with the support of the whole Irish book-selling and publishing industry. From a small base of three initial categories, the awards now include eighteen categories spanning the literary genres, and thousands of readers vote to select the winners every year. The over-riding motivation behind the awards is to celebrate the extraordinary quality of Irish writing, to help bring the best books to a wider readership, and to promote an industry under intense competitive pressures. Exclusively Irish, inclusive in every other sense, the Irish Book Awards brings together the entire literary community – readers, authors, booksellers, publishers and librarians – like no other awards. We hope you will join us in celebrating Irish writing.

On the evening of Thursday 24th October, we were delighted to attend  the shortlist launch at the GPO, and are very excited to reveal the nominees for Avoca Irish Cookbook of the Year 2019 below!

  • Cornucopia: The Green Cookbook by Tony Keogh, Aoife Carrigy, the Chefs of Cornucopia, Deirdre and Dairine McCafferty
