This beautifully crafted alder wood birdhouse has been designed with the blue tit in mind, a colourful and active native bird with a cheerful chirruping birdsong. The 18mm thick walls provides a perfectly insulated safe space while the sloping roof allows rainwater to simply flow off and the walls enclose the floor to prevent water coming in. The overhanging roof protects from wind and rain and the front side is hinged for easy cleaning. Ventilation holes have been placed in the sides to prevent overheating and four holes have been drilled in the bottom for drainage. The inner side is rough while the front side has been crafted with grooves to help young birds to easily climb out of the nesting box when they are ready.
