POLICY STATEMENT ON COVID 19 & FACE PROTECTION
We are happy to offer complimentary face masks and shields at select locations, so if you have forgotten yours please ask a member of staff who would be happy to provide you with one. We will respectfully ask those who cannot wear a face covering to wear a shield instead. If you are unable to do so, we would encourage you to alert a member of staff who would be happy to help. We are also happy to help facilitate any shopping required on a customer’s behalf if they feel safer and more comfortable doing so. Staff are always on hand to help any customers that might prefer or require assistance with shopping at this time, and can arrange for shopping to be left for the customer in a designated external collection point.
It is also worth noting that the policy on face coverings does not apply to children under the age of 13, and that customers may remove their face coverings in order to talk to someone who has difficulty communicating, provide emergency care to a vulnerable person, take medication or to verify their age or identity.
At Avoca, the safety of our teams is of the utmost importance. We ask that customers treat our employees with respect and understanding, particularly during the current challenging circumstances. At times, staff may remind customers of their responsibilities in relation to COVID19, and we ask that these requests are met with respect and kindness.
The above policy on face coverings is just one of the safety measures we are implementing in regards to COVID19. Additional measures include limiting the number of people in our stores, social distancing, promoting hand hygiene with sanitising stations and enhanced hygiene practices, such as the regular and thorough sanitisation of touch points.
