How are you feeling today? Do you have that #AvocaFeeling?

We’re delighted to have partnered with The Gloss for a fabulous new content series all about what gives us that #avocafeeling! Kicking off our brand new Christmas campaign which is centred around the wonder and joy of the little things, we’d love for you to join in and let us know on social - what are the little things that bring you joy, and evoke that #avocafeeling for you? We’re all about finding and celebrating daily rituals and little pleasures that keep us afloat, in particular in these current challenging times. Whether it’s your morning cup of coffee, sea swimming, forest walking or curling up with your favourite book and throw, we’d love to hear how you find joy in the little things.

Third in our series is the fabulous Karen, an integral member of the retail team at Avoca Malahide. In her interview with The Gloss, Karen tells us about the little rituals that bring her joy:  

'For me, I would have to say my garden is the ‘little thing’ that brings me the most joy. We were so lucky with the beautiful weather during the first lockdown, and I felt very fortunate to have a garden to enjoy the time spent at home. Being outside brought me a lot of peace and comfort at a very challenging time. Even now coming into Winter, I get such pleasure now just looking out at it every day.'

When describing how she brings wonder and joy into her home over the Christmas period, Karen says, 'Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year. I start planning and preparing from about September and count down the weeks until I can put up my tree! My kids are in their 20s now and we still keep all the traditions  we have had since they were babies. We decorate every room in the house! Normally we have all the family over for Christmas Day, but this year it will most likely be a much smaller gathering.'

What gives Karen that #avocafeeling? 'Before I actually starting working at Avoca, it had been an aspiration of mine for a long time to join the Avoca Malahide team! When you walk in either as a customer or staff member, there is a unique feeling. Our shop is like a little market town you might see in a movie, with everyone greeting each other with a smile, and knowing each other’s names, kids, grandkids and families. Customers come back time and time again because they feel part of that, it make them feel at home.  This is the #avocafeeling I love.'
