Avoca Marketing & PR Manager:

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Marketing and PR Manager to join our busy team. Responsible for the overall delivery of the marketing strategy along with driving promotional activity to support commercial growth, this role will be perfect for someone with 3-5 years’ experience in Marketing and PR. This role involves all aspects of communication, marketing, PR and event management, whilst consistently enhancing the brand and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Assist in the delivering of all the planned marketing activities, budgets & strategic marketing objectives. Plan and roll out the annual marketing calendar.

•  Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for an entire organisation (or lines of business and brands within an organization) in order to attract potential new customers segments and retain loyal customers.

• Coordinate all marketing collateral to include company brochures and POS, both online & instore.

• Assist with promotional activities and in store events as per the marketing calendar.

• Compile content for press releases & drive strong PR proposition for the wider business. Champion the brand values on all external channels of communication, and manage external relationships with various agencies and suppliers.

•  Manage full relationship with PR agency and ensure AVOCA gets full coverage annually across national print media and digital channels. Drive weekly e-alerts for press to maximise AVOCA’s coverage. Compile monthly coverage report for circulation internally.

• Works closely with both the retail & food  buying to teams to promote all new product and coordinate instore launches.

• Draft retail & food content / coordinate imagery for print features across national press.

• Support digital content team in brand communications across online and social media

• Assist on photo shoots including process of pulling product, on shoot & post-shoot preparation of captioned images for press.

• Adhere to the marketing budget to ensure successful overall implementation of the marketing plans.

•  Research, identify and implement opportunities for market research. Use insights to develop core campaigns and understand our core consumer base.

•  Demonstrate strong creative thinking & innovative approach.  

• Ensure successful implementation of the Business Plan within budget including annual communications planning, management of agencies, media buying, advertising, PR, DM, e-marketing, CRM, website input, promotions and events.

• Lead seasonal marketing campaigns, pre and post campaign evaluation and subsequent follow up. This includes SS & AW fashion campaign launches and Christmas.

• Drive all media activation plans - billboards/ window display for summer & winter sales.

• Ensure legal compliance in all marketing activity undertaken across the region including Consumer Protection Act, Data Protection Act and Health and Safety at Work Act.

Key skills required:

•  3 - 5 years’ experience in a retail or food marketing environment, preferably with premium luxury brands.

• Strong strategic and creative exposure. Ability to manage external agencies with high-quality return.

• Strong PR skills preferable.

• Excellent attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple projects in tandem.

• Fluency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint is required.

• Must have a full clean driver’s license & be available to drive to various locations.

• Good knowledge of consumer behaviours and trends.

• Proven ability to manage annualised marketing budgets.

• Demonstrates natural interpersonal skills and thrives in a team environment.

• Strong verbal & written communication capabilities.

• Persuasive communicator and influential leadership style.
