Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time/ Daytime Hours
Locations: Ballsbridge, Kilmacanogue, Monkstown, Rathcoole, Dunboyne, Molls Gap & Powerscourt (all 7 locations are hiring for this role)

We're looking for experienced Food Market Assistants to join our team. to work our food counters in various Assistants
The role of a Food Market Assistant is to assist our customers through all stages of their experience with the company, from ordering a sandwich at our food counters to paying for their take-away coffee. Listed below are some of the duties and responsibilities required in this position. All duties are subject to the instruction of a direct line manager, or general manager, depending on the business needs. 

The ideal candidate will: 

-Be available for an immediate start
-Have relevant experience working on a food counter
-Have a great teamwork ethic and excellent customer service

Roles and Responsibilities:

Customer Service – Customers should be tended to with courtesy and respect at all times. Their satisfaction is paramount to our business, so a high level of customer service is required, from greeting them as they come in, helping them with enquiries or issues, and making sure they are happy as they leave.

HACCP – Food systems management should be up to date and compliant with HACCP and EHO guidelines. All health and safety aspects such as food handling procedures, recording fridge temperatures etc., should be adhered to.

Opening and closing duties as outlined by your line manager. Avoca values teamwork as a core responsibility for all staff, and team spirit with regard to leaving the workspaces clean and stocked up for the next shift is very important.

Food Preparation, especially for special orders such as corporate, lunch or catering orders - these should reflect Avoca standards at all times.

Flexibility regarding training on different sections is required. Foodhall employees are encouraged to show an interest in different aspects of the food market, such as product knowledge, barista training, training on cheese and charcuterie etc.

Uniforms – will be specified by your manager. Jewelry is not permitted whilst on duty, with the exception of a plain wedding ring.

 
Competencies:

Customer Service – Going above and beyond for the needs of the customer

Timekeeping – Adhere to the sick leave policy and absence policies, using correct notification methods (to a direct supervisor). Holidays should be pre-approved before booking

Teamwork – Working as part of a team to ensure business goals and objectives are met.

Flexibility – The nature of the business is dependent on customer service which requires certain aspects of flexibility such as roster changes, cover on days that are short-staffed that may be in different areas of the food market. Every effort shall be made to notify you of this in sufficient time beforehand.
