Opening April 5th, 2017: Avoca Dunboyne

Avoca Dunboyne - It’s nearly here

We are beyond excited to confirm that Avoca Dunboyne will open its doors at 8am on Wednesday April 5th. Embracing a whole new way of shopping it will offer the full Avoca experience including Fork Café, food market and retail area delivered in an innovative way.  Themes include a dedication to quality, Irish provenance, locally sourced, a sense of adventure, pride of place and of course a sense of colour and fun, with the interior featuring some interesting and eclectic features. The designers wanted to make use of the floor space and floor-to-ceiling space and incorporate the farm to fork concept in doing so, this has been created by dividing the interior space with indoor structures such as a garden shed which is home to Joeanna Caffrey flowers and a barn which will house the store’s range of books. A silo, a structure used for storing bulk materials in agriculture, stands in the centre of the retail section, re-purposed as a structure for hanging and displaying clothing. The exterior also embraces the same concepts, with vintage tractors in Avoca’s signature bright colours at the entrance, which again take full advantage of the scale of the premises.

We will offer the typical Avoca treasure trove retail experience, with a wide selection of products available across men’s and women’s fashion and accessories, gifts, jewellery, books, stationery, beauty, kids, homeware and lifestyle, and of course Avoca’s signature range of throws and knits.

The Avoca Butcher will command a large space in the Foodhall section of the Dunboyne facility presenting the best of Irish artisan free range organic meat with a full butcher’s counter, a dry aging cabinet and a wide range of meats from oxtail and beef cheeks to prime ribs and roasts!

AVOCA Dunboyne is a unique experience, which takes you on a journey through food with a clear sourcing message at the heart beat of this new store, paying homage to the Farm to fork concept. AVOCA are celebrating the origins of their food, growing produce in grow beds placed alongside the large outdoor seating terrace. Cafe diners will be surrounded by growing vegetables, which are then harvested, used in our kitchens and served in our dishes. AVOCA Dunboyne illustrates the handmade nature and transparency of Avoca’s food, which is made using the freshest ingredients, handmade by our expert chefs and without artificial flavours, colours and preservatives.

AVOCA Dunboyne is very much a sensory food experience which goes beyond taste; watch the dough being kneaded by the bakers and smell the freshly baked bread throughout the foodhall and café areas. In the café, chefs can be seen cooking food on the open grill at the kitchen hatch, which makes the dining experience immersive and exciting.

It takes the Avoca food market concept a step further, where customers can also enjoy a casual dining experience. It has the right balance between fresh produce and presenting food ready to eat as they see, a growing trend in Italy. Surrounded by the Avoca counters and concessions serving salads, sandwiches, hot dishes, cheese and charcuteries, it is an ‘eat as you see’ experience where food can be eaten in or enjoyed to go. Alongside the cheese counter, where a wide variety of cheeses such as parmesan, Gouda, delice, brie, and blue are available is Avoca’s new Mediterranean section. The Mediterranean counter serves antipasti, charcuterie and fresh produce from suppliers all over the Mediterranean including Spain, France, and Italy, perfect for taking home or serving as part of a picnic.

Similar to Kilmacanogue’s Sugar Tree Café or the Birdcage in Avoca Rathcoole, Fork Café will be a self-service café. The café will seat 200 indoors including outdoor seating terrace, which will also provide wood-fire pizza from the terrace’s own pizza van.
