Our Gardens & Nurseries

You’ll find us where the wild things grow

A love of gardening is in our blood. Our base in Kilmacanoge, Co. Wicklow, is nestled in what used to be the gardens of the estate belonging to the Jameson Whiskey family, boasting rare and lovely trees including a 900 year old Yew walk. We love to be in the midst of towering trees and tranquil, landscaped gardens. Avoca at Powerscourt House is set in one of Ireland’s most famous gardens. Malahide Castle is home to fabulous botanical walled gardens. Avoca Rathcoole has a contemporary walled garden, while Mount Usher Gardens are an award-winning example of Robinsonian Gardens. We also have a kitchen garden in Dunboyne, where we grow a lot of our own vegetables and herbs, and even our Suffolk Street store in the heart of Dublin has a secret rooftop garden.

We believe that flowers are for every day. Our affinity with wild gardens, rolling hills and ancient trees encompasses pot plants and bouquets too, which is why we also have Garden Centres and Florists at selected locations.

You can explore our very own Garden Centre at our Kilmacanoge store, while over at Dunboyne you can peruse the extensive offering from Howbert and Mays. Joeanna Caffrey is our florist of choice, and you can pick up a blossoming bunch for yourself or a loved one at either of these locations, too.You can see, then, that at Avoca there’s a lot of natural beauty to explore, woods to get lost in and gardens to admire. We like to think that all good things are wild and free.
