Avoca are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor to be based in Kilmacanogue, Wicklow. Reporting directly to a HR Business Partner, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing high quality support across the Avoca Business. The HR Advisor will work in conjunction with other members of the HR team to deliver an effective and efficient HR support service to the business.

Today, Avoca has 13 locations across the country and approximately 1,100 employees.
Since inception in 1723, the ethos of Avoca remains the same. We cherish our time-honoured traditions, which have been lovingly passed down through several generations. Today, there are third generation weavers working at the Mill. Our skills might be steeped in a long and rich tradition, but our attitude is to look to the future. Now heralded as one of Ireland’s most exciting retail stores, there are Avoca ceramics, clothing, perfumes, soaps and more from our own design studio. We have a host of award winning cafes and restaurants, food markets crammed with artisanal ingredients from near and far, as well as a best-selling range of Avoca cookbooks. There are also gardens to explore at many of our stores, as well as florists and garden centres. The list goes on. And all of this from a modest hand weaving mill, established in a rural Irish village in 1723.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

Work with key business stakeholders to ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to and feedback and coaching to operators is provided.
Assist the HR Business Partners with the management of ER cases including grievances, dignity at work, union issues and disciplinary cases in a timely manner.
Deliver sound and commercial advice when applying Avoca policy and procedure and employment law - Solutions should ensure compliance with the law and Aramark policy and procedure and minimize any financial risk.
Work with business to ensure that recruitment processes fully support business objectives.
Manage Long Term Sick caseload ensuring that employees are returned to the business or their departure is managed effectively and appropriately.
Assist managers with Performance Improvement Processes
Ensure compliance with Company policies, best HR practice and employment legislation.
Support positive trade union relations.
General Administration when required.
Support Business with restructures and re-organisations when required
Assist in the delivery of HR projects as required and in line with objectives set.
Preparation and attendance if required at 3rd party hearings with HR BP.
Maintain a high level of flexibility to support HR team in providing a consistent service.
Keep up to date with legislation and practices within the industry and take responsibility for own development.
Active participation in discussions and present when necessary at monthly team meeting.
Encourage and promote the sharing of information and key learning across the HR function.
Support and coach other members of the HR team where required.
Drive improvement in people management capability across the business through both delivery of HR Training and advice.
To promote a professional image of the HR team at all times maintaining the highest standards of integrity at all time.
Champions the value of HR and educates the business on the advantages that the function can contribute.

The Ideal candidate will require the following Skills:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HR Advisor or Generalist role.
A HR qualification or working towards one which is accredited by CIPD.
Problem solving and solution orientated.
Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Strong Microsoft office skills.
Data Management Experience.
Highly organized and good time management.
A willingness to learn and develop.
