A Journey of Culinary Passion

Ross Lewis’s path to culinary excellence began on his uncle’s farm in Bishopstown, Co. Cork, where he first discovered the profound connection between the land and the food it provides. This early inspiration sparked his lifelong passion for cooking.

As a student and young chef, Ross honed his craft in renowned kitchens across the U.S., London, and Switzerland before returning to Ireland at the age of 24. He took on the role of Head Chef at the iconic Old Dublin Restaurant, where he spent three transformative years.

In 1993, Ross co-founded the acclaimed Chapter One restaurant with Martin Corbett. Chapter One went on to achieve a Michelin star, which it proudly held for over a decade, along with numerous accolades, including the title of Best Restaurant in Ireland an impressive eight times (most recently in 2017). Ross himself has been celebrated as Best Chef of the Year multiple times by Food & Wine Magazine.

Today, Ross remains co-owner of Chapter One while continuing to innovate through his sister restaurant, Osteria Lucio, in Dublin, cementing his place as one of Ireland’s most celebrated chefs.
