Avoca's Nomination in the Irish Made Awards' Textile Category

We are absolutely thrilled to be finalists in this year’s @irishcountrymag Irish Made Awards textiles category with our Harriet Coral Throw!

Cast in a palette of warm burnt orange and vibrant blue, it’s made from 100% Donegal wool and mohair yarn and has been woven in our Wicklow Mill. We would be absolutely thrilled if you’d like to vote for us. You can do that here - thank you!

Derived from the old Irish word abhoca meaning ‘little treasure’, our weaving mill is a gem tucked away in Avoca village. Ireland’s oldest weaving mill, we’ve been weaving here since 1723 and are proud to say there are third generation weavers still working here today. If you love this beautiful throw as much as we do, you can buy it here.

We fondly call our throws ‘woven hugs’ because they’ve been created with love and care and provide warmth and comfort to people’s homes all over.

We are honoured to be finalists in the Irish Made Awards’ Textiles category alongside a host of fantastic Irish craftspeople and creators. We would like to extend a huge congratulations to everyone else shortlisted in this fantastic category. We are in excellent company alongside a selection of the country's finest creators, makers and designers!
